Apple Aperture: Digital Workflow

  
 

Learn how to use Apple's Aperture to be in control of your digital workflow. This class is designed to make Aperture easy to understand and put you in control of all it has to offer. It will cover your workflow from beginning to end: from importing and organizing to adjusting and exporting your images.

Topics include:

  • Organizing your photos using projects, folders and albums
  • Adding metadata and working with metadata templates
  • Using keywords and smart albums to find images quickly
  • Image adjustments: how to use them effectively, choosing the right settings and options, plus what order to make your adjustments in
  • Applying adjustment selectively using brushes
  • Recovering detail in highlight and shadow areas
  • Checking for critical sharpness
  • Retouching imperfections
  • Image adjustment presets
  • Batch applying adjustments and metadata
  • Exporting images
  • Creating slideshows

Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop with Aperture installed so you can practice while the techniques are being demonstrated. Even if you don't have a laptop, much can be gained by attending the class and observing the features and how the tools are used.

Cancellation Policy for Field Sessions, Photo Classes and Software Training

  • More than seven days before: Receive a full refund or apply the payment towards a future event.

  • Seven days or less before: The payment may only be applied to a future event.

  • If the event is full when the cancellation is made, the refund or transfer of payment to a future event (per timeline above) is dependent on filling the empty space. If the space is not filled the payment cannot be refunded or transferred to another event.
